Arthur Dale Brown, 75, of Astor, Florida, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2025, and went home to be with our Lord. He was beloved by all who knew him and will be remembered for his deep love of family and friends, his passion for music, his kindness, and his wonderful sense of humor.
Dale served as a captain in the United States Army. He was proud to be a veteran and to have served his country.
Dale earned his Pilgrim of Degree Merit with the Loyal Order of the Moose. He was the administrator of the Orlando Moose Lodge #766 for a decade and served as Deputy Supreme Governor for Florida-Bermuda North.
Dale is survived by his loving, devoted wife, Donna, and her sons Christopher (Leah) Taylor of Middleburg, Florida and JR (Makaila) Grimm of Deland, Florida; his sister, Alice (Larry) Brunner-Ray of Alliance, Ohio; his children: April Brown of Homeworth, Ohio; Shawn (Melissa) Brown of Louisville, Ohio; Jason Brown of Youngstown, Ohio; Joseph Gibbons of Deland, Florida; Michelle (Troy) Dampier of Boniflay, Florida; and Edward (Jennifer) Gibbons of Defuniak, Florida; and special nephew who he thought of as a brother, Glenn (Cathy) Brown of East Rochester, Ohio. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who will miss him dearly.
Dale is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Cora (McCosh) Brown; his son, Shilo Brown; 3 brothers: Glenn, Frank, and Larry; and 4 sisters: Ellen Yeagley, Judy Altenhof, Nancy Sines, and Karen Haas.
Dale's legacy will live on through his family and friends. His joyful spirit will be remembered always.
In honor of Dale's life and his impact on all those who knew him, his family invites friends and loved ones to come together and celebrate his memory. A Military Service and Celebration of Life given by Pastor Mark Gaeta will be held March 1, 2025 from 11:00am-1:00pm at the Christian Church of DeLeon Springs, 4481 Mills Rd., Deland, Florida 32728. Covered dishes for the fellowship meal will be welcomed and appreciated.
