Brenda Helen Bragg Krist of Deland, Florida passed into God’s loving arms on Wednesday evening, March 16, 2022, after a two-year battle with cancer. Born in Sylvania, Georgia, August 27, 1952, she was the daughter of the late William Watson Bragg and Helen Saxon Bragg and was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Thomas “Tommy” Frederick Krist and brothers, John Ezra Bragg and Padgett Watson Bragg. Brenda was a very talented artist and a patron of the arts. She attended the Savannah College of Art and Design and completed her Graphic Artist Degree after moving to Florida. During her tenure as a graphic artist for Hawaiian Tropic, Brenda won a corporate wide artist competition and was the featured creator/artist for the stage backdrop at the Miss Hawaiian Tropic Contest in Hawaii. Brenda loved to laugh and spend time with friends. She enjoyed reading, music, dancing, walking on the beach, and traveling extensively. Her love of animals was lifelong, and she opened her heart to many, but especially loved her dog, Maggie and two cats, Ben & Jerry. Brenda leaves behind a cousin, George Michael Carrigan (wife Donna) of North Carolina; nieces, Christine Bragg Kirby of Augusta, Georgia, Sophie and Lana Krist of Longwood, Florida and nephew, John Bragg of Evans, Georgia. She also leaves an innumerable amount of friends and neighbors that were deeply touched by her friendship and her love. A celebration of life in her honor will be held in Sylvania, Georgia at a later date. Donations can be made to American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).
